We are planning for the future. We currently add and depreciate like Serialized Units as batches (this keeps our system numbers to a minimum). However, we would like to identify each Serialized Unit as its own asset for purposes of physical inventory. We foresee us reaching 999,999 system numbers within the next 2-3 years after the project has been initiated and completed with the current batched assets.
We would like to see an enhancement to either flip the system # to 1,000,000 or change the book to include alpha numeric system numbers.
We currently utilize all 7 Internal/Tax books available in the system. Which means, come tax season, we run depreciation on 5 of those tax books and then run reporting on all 5 tax books. Creating a second company and doing this in two companies (if we max the system number) would be very cumbersome, which is why we'd like to see an enhancement to system numbers.

As a side note, if using version 2021.0 or later you can add up to 13 additional books, for a total of twenty. The feature is under Edit Company. The button is Add Book.
